Upgrade Guide

General Instructions

Backup

We recommended you run all updates on a local or staging environment before running on production / live. At the very least, you should always take a backup of the code and database before updating.

Updating Code

Updating Doorstep to the latest minor version is handled through the PHP package manager 'Composer'.

To update the Doorstep framework code (as well as other packages), you should run the command

composer update

from the main directory (or php composer.phar update) if you installed locally.

Running Database Migrations

Between versions, some database changes may take place. To pull down recent migrations and run them using Laravel, run the following command in the base directory.

php artisan doorstep:update
